"Ecce Homo" (Giclée Print)
Archival reproduction of the original watercolor painting. Fine art paper is 100% cotton, acid-free, and textured, bringing out the luminosity and detail of each brushstroke. The original featured fine watercolor paints with gemstone fragments (garnet, lapis lazuli, and tiger’s eye) plus minerals (zoisite, bronzite, etc.) This is a giclee print of the highest quality made that closely replicates original artwork - it is not digital art, is not a standard photo print, and was not generated using any artificial intelligence.
“So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, “Behold the man!” (Jn 19:5).
The Ecce Homo Arch is the area in which Pontius Pilate said, “Behold the man!” translated from “Ecce Homo!” In the arch, there is a pillar; on the pillar, there is a tabernacle - and in the tabernacle is the Blessed Sacrament. And so, in the very place where the bloodied Jesus was presented to the people who yelled “Crucify Him, Crucify Him!” the Blessed Sacrament is there…and will always be there.
Irony only exists because of sin, but because God is Who He Is, “where sin increased, grace abounded all the more” (Ro. 8:20). Thus, in the spot where the presence of God Incarnate was dismissed, ignored, and raged against, He is present for all time as Eucharist. His final words on earth hold true: “behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” (Mt. 28:20). These words are the theme of His preaching: the Kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe the good news! (Mk 1:15; Mt 3:2). His first and last words connect because “in Him all things hold together” (Col. 1:17)
