This is an archival giclee reproduction of the artist’s soft pastel painting of Saint Carlo Acutis. You can see in his eyes that Carlo is a little one at heart, and his trusting eyes full of a healthy sense of intrigue as he moves towards the Lord. The impression of grapes on a vine is on his right (picture-left), indicating both that he bore fruit for the Lord on his short time on earth, and signifying the fruit of the vine that is consecrated during Holy Mass into the Precious Blood of Christ. The vine encircles Him, close to his head, indicating his belief in Jesus, the True Vine, his putting on the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16; Ro. 12:2; Is. 55), and his faith in Jesus’ statement that we are the branches while He is the vine - and “apart from Me, you can do nothing.”
When you look at this pastel painting, meditate on how you, like Saint Carlo Acutis, can move your eyes towards the Lord and away from anything else - whether it is an ongoing concern, a worry, or anything that seems to hold you captive. There is no obstacle to holiness and the things that seem beyond reach, when our eyes move to the Lord.." This little saint said "conversion is nothing other than lifting one's gaze upward. All you need is a simple movement of the eyes." Carlo catalogued every known Eucharistic miracle worldwide during his short mission on earth, to encourage people to believe. To choose to believe in Jesus and Who He Is and what He says, without fully understanding - and then receive the good fruit of this choice: actual understanding, inspired wisdom, and solid faith.
